Good to know
- Even an extract contains residual caffeine. It's best to avoid it in the evening if you're sensitive to caffeine.
- Green tea slows down the absorption of iron from food. If you drink it some time before or after eating iron-rich foods, this won't be a problem.
- High-dose EGCG extracts should not be taken on an empty stomach and should not exceed 800 mg per day on a long-term basis. Higher doses can put a strain on the liver.
As always, dietary supplements are a supplement, not a substitute for good food and not a substitute for medical advice. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have children, pre-existing medical conditions, or are taking long-term medication, it is advisable to consult your doctor beforehand.
